• More than 1,400 major contracts awarded since July 2024, with 94% of contract value remaining with UK-based organisations. 
• A 50% increase in defence spending with SMEs by 2028, supported by an additional £2.5 billion of direct SME investment. 
• Over £5 billion for autonomous systems and uncrewed capability. 
• New investment in AI, cyber, digital engineering, munitions production and defence skills. 

Taken together, these commitments represent much more than increased spending. They represent an investment in UK sovereign resilience; the ability to anticipate, absorb, adapt and recover from disruption whilst maintaining strategic freedom of action. 

Yet resilience is never created by infrastructure alone. It is created by people.
